  POSSESSIVE PROFESSOR

  Describe your professor.

  a.) Older Man

  b.) Teacher

  c.) Best Friend’s Dad

  d.) All of the above

  Correct answer below

Teacher student relations are strictly off limits. But this possessive professor puts college rules to the test for the first time when he protects me from some cocky coeds.

His picture should be in the dictionary under tall, dark, and handsome. But he’s also the definition of first time crush. As in mine.

But he’s not just an outrageously hot older man, he’s also my best friend’s dad.

And when word gets out that he doesn’t tolerate even the slightest disrespect towards women every sexy student is looking for a little teacher student romance.

But he tells me he’s not into meaningless things with random people and that he’s only ever wanted me and only me, and that gives him all the extra credit in my book. And when I see just how possessive he can really become I have to admit I’m a little taken aback, but I’m also quickly turning to putty in this possessive professor’s hands.

But when his lecture on biology turns into schooling me in the art of baby making I know he’s the kind of supportive older man who will give this younger woman room to grow, both in my own career and into the big family I’ve always wanted.

School’s in session and this perfect professor is the ultimate teacher student fantasy not just for a college romance, but for forever.

Correct answer: If you guessed “D” you get an “A+” :)

*Possessive Professor is an insta-everything standalone romance with an HEA, no cheating, and no cliffhanger.

  CHAPTER 1

  Parker

“I slipped her that roofie you gave me,” a voice coming from the bathroom sinks says.

I cut my bathroom break short and push open the stall doors. I always handle my business in stalls these days. When I worked as a cop too many times I saw where cell phones belonging to people we were investigating had been used to photograph unsuspecting people in bathrooms. I despise those kinds of people.

And there’s nothing I despise more than an individual who tries to take advantage of a woman. I’ll call them an individual, but I’ll never refer to that type of scum as a man. And I say try, because while I’m around there’s no way he’s getting away with it.

I shove the bathroom door open and see a group of boys just in front of me.

It was one of them. It had to have been. I saw the creeps picking out pool sticks from the rack next to the pool table I was on.

At six foot five and now angry as hell my strides catch up to them in less than a couple seconds.

I reach out my hand and grab the collar of one of the scumbag’s shirts and drag him back to me by the heels. He’s my same height, but there’s no comparison in terms of strength.

  “Which girl?”

“Get your hands off me old man.”

His four buddies turn around but I don’t care.

“Which girl’s drink did you put the roofie in?”

“Take your hands off him, grandpa,” one of his friends says.

“Tell me which girl it is and at a minimum you’re mommy and daddy might be able to bail you out of jail in the morning.”

I hear a click and see a flash of light. It’s the reflection from a switchblade. I could easily disarm him right now thanks to my years of training with the L.A.P.D., but that same training also reminds me you never put the lives of civilians at risk. And this bar is full of civilians.

I guess the calling one receives in life to protect and serve never really leaves you. Yeah, I may have thought I could leave police work behind for the life of a criminology professor, but the old saying is true. Once a cop, always a cop.

  “Outside. Now. All of
you,” I say.

I know it’s not going to take much to get these testosterone filled young punks to step outside to fight someone they perceive as an easy target, especially when it’s five against one. But I’ve had the odds stacked against me much worse, and the results have always been the same.

And as soon as I show them who’s boss I’ll be back inside to figure out which girl they were trying to take advantage of.

  CHAPTER 2

  Sophia

“This drink tastes funny,” I say to my friend Annika.

“It was free and a free drink always tastes better than one you paid for, right? If it’s free it’s for me, right?”

I look at her and we both laugh. It’s funny, but it’s also true. We’re first-year college students on extremely tight budgets.

“But,” she says, “those guys did seem a little too eager to buy us drinks. They didn’t exactly look like trust fund babies either so the cost of a drink probably means more to them than someone who’s on an allowance from their parents.”

“You’re right. Something seems fishy. Better to just not drink it at all.” I pause. “You think they’ll be offended? Maybe get angry though?”

“Well, by the looks of things it looks like they’re…leaving?”

  “What?”

I turn and see them walking out the door. A couple of them writhe their hands while some of the others punch a fist into the palm of their hands.

“Bar fight!” someone yells a few seconds later. “Outside.”

There’s a mad dash towards the doors. I look at Annika and shrug. We hurry off towards the exit to see what’s going on.

  CHAPTER 3

  Parker

“It’s your last chance to tell me which girl’s drink you slipped that drug in. If you do I might even let you walk out of here instead of leaving in the back of an ambulance.”

The jerk laughs. “You need to go back to school old man. You forgot how to count. It’s five against one. You’re about to get f—“

“It’s three against one, son,” I say not allowing him to finish his sentence.

The punk turns and looks at each of his accomplices, counting them out one at a time on his fingers.

“See that’s the thing with lowlifes like you. You think you’re standing here as a group of five strong. But it’s three…at most. See, once I take out the leader of this rag tag group of societal waste, which is you, then a couple of your so-called buddies will step out. I’ll make quick work of them and then the last two? They’ll run. They always do.”

“Oh, so you’ve done this before.”

I shrug. “It’s getting late. Step up and show me how tough you all really are now.”

The leader looks over his shoulder at his friends. They nod in approval.

“Just remember. I gave you a chance to settle this the easy way,” I say. It’s true, but honestly I’m much happier that it’s going to go down this way. This way these five will get a taste of their own medicine.

The first boy flips open a switchblade of his own and lunges right at my midsection…as expected.

  CHAPTER 4

  Sophia

“That old guy’s going to get his butt kicked…” Annika doesn’t even finish her sentence.

It’s dark out, but I can kind of make out the shape of the man she’s referring to.

One of the boys lunges at him but the older gentleman is too quick. He steps to the side and does some quick movements with his hands and arms that look like something out of a martial arts film. Next thing I hear is bones cracking, the knife hit the floor, and the boy screaming as he goes down in pain.

A couple of the other boys rush at the man, but they’re met with an even more painful fate than the first guy.

“The old guy is kicking their ass!” Annika says. Her voice echoes through the crowd as everyone else is completely in silence, in awe of the older gentleman’s speed and skill.

The last two boys look at one another and take a fighting position. The older man, with his back turned towards us motions with his hand for them to come to him. They look at each other again and turn off and high tail it in the other direction.

The man turns and faces the crowd.

“All right everybody. Listen up. If you recognize any of these faces from earlier in the night step, and especially if you accepted anything to drink from one of them or turned you back on them while you had a drink anywhere in your presence, you might have been roofied.”

  Oh my god.

“You need to get to a hospital to get looked at immediately, before you pass out.”

Oh my god. The thought hits me again, but for a different reason.

The man turns around just enough light catches his face.

It’s Parker Stone, my dad’s best friend.

“Annika,” I mumble…my knees feeling weak.

Annika looks at me and it’s like she’s seen a ghost.

  “Over here!” she yells.

It’s the last thing I remember before everything goes black.

  CHAPTER 5

  Sophia

  Three days later

“Sophia.” My name echoes through the lecture hall, if you can call it that anymore. After word got out about Parker putting those five boys in their place his class filled up so quickly he had to add three more classes and they were all moved to the biggest room our school offers. Stadium seating with the back half of the class a bit dark.

I’d signed up for the criminology class since I needed an elective, and after watching Mindhunter, Criminal Minds, Killing Eve, and even Jessica Jones I thought this class could be a fun distraction from my other coursework.

  Oh was I wrong.

With Parker leading the class this was about to become a totally different kind of distraction, as in distracting me from being able to focus in any other areas in the other parts of my life. He would be the one thing, the central point, where all my attention would be completely focused.

Parker was my dad’s best friend and an L.A.P.D. cop. Or at least he was. Apparently he had a teaching itch he wanted to scratch and when the university came to him with an offer he couldn’t refuse he took them up on it.

That’s why the class was listed as Criminology 101 in the curriculum with the teacher as To Be Announced.

Oh he sure announced his presence all right. And right now he was announcing my name to the entire class.

“I want you down here in the front…where I can keep an eye on you.”

I look around realizing nobody in this class knows who I am. I could just slide into my desk and pretend I’m not here, but it’s much too late for that. Despite the dimmed lighting he’s somehow picked me out of the crowd and his gaze is strong enough to burn holes right through me and melt my seat and the feet of whoever is sitting behind me.

A girl in front of me turns around, realizing he’s looking at me. “Lucky you,” she says. “Better go claim your prize before I do.”

And that pretty much sums up how the last three days have been.

In a world where men act like boys most of the time and most boys act like spineless wimps, Parker is a throwback to the time of real men.

And speaking of throwback, every single girl on campus seems to wants a throwback of a different kind…as in have him throw them on their backs on his bed.

There’s even rumors of a charity calendar featuring a picture of him for each month, but I know that’s not true. That’s not the kind of guy he is.

I mean yeah, he is a complete stud, but he’s not interested in any kind of attention.

He lets those wide shoulders, square jawline, chiseled chest and thick thighs do the talking for him. He’s a man of few words, but right now he’s using his words to call me up front and center.

And there was another rumor that he himself had to stand tall, front and center, in front of the dean after what happened at the bar. Starting him off with a summer school class was apparently supposed to be an easy transition to se
eing how college life was really like, but apparently he couldn’t wait to make a scene before classes even started.

The dean was put to the test, to uphold the rules of the university he rules. He should have kicked out Parker immediately, but he didn’t. He waited until all the facts were gathered, even though he had clearly gotten into a fight at a bar that was technically on-campus. Granted it’s not much of a fight when one side dishes out all the punishment.

But once the police report came back it was discovered those five boys weren’t even students, but just a pack of jerks who traveled around Southern California campuses trying to give girls spiked drinks so they could take advantage of them, Parker quickly became a hero in the region. And the dean wasn’t about to throw out a decorated cop and a campus wide hero, no matter how many bones he broke in order to protect a women.
